In software engineering, software configuration management (SCM or S/W CM) is the task of tracking and controlling changes in the software, part of the larger cross-disciplinary field of configuration management. SCM practices include revision control and the establishment of something goes wrong, SCM can determine what was changed and who changed it.

IEEE Standard for Software Configuration Management Plans Abstract: This standard provides minimum requirements for preparation and content of Software Configuration Management (SCM) Plans.

SCM Plans document the methods to be used for identifying software product items, controlling and implementing changes, and recording and reporting. Abstract: IEEE StdIEEE Standard for Software Configuration Management Plans, establishes the minimum required contents of a Software Configuration Management Plan and defines the specific activities to be addressed and their requirements for any portion of a software product’s life cycle.

IEEE Standard for Software Configuration Management Plans - Redline Abstract: The minimum required contents of a Software Configuration Management (SCM) Plan are established via this standard. This standard applies to the entire life cycle of critical software (e.g., where failure would impact safety or cause large financial or social losses).

This standard provides minimum requirements for preparation and content of Software Configuration Management (SCM) Plans. SCM Plans document the methods to be used for identifying software product items, controlling and implementing changes, and recording and reporting change implementation status.

The minimum required contents of a Software Configuration Management (SCM) Plan are established via this standard. This standard applies to the entire life cycle of critical software (e.g., where failure would impact safety or cause large financial or social losses).

It also applies to noncritical software and to software already developed. IEEE Guide to Software Configuration Management. Abstract: The application of configuration management (CM) disciplines to the management of software engineering projects is described.

For those planning software configuration management (SCM) activities, this guide provides insight into the various factors that must be considered. IEEE Standard for Software ConÞguration Management Plans 1. Overview Scope This standard establishes the minimum required contents of a Software ConÞguration Management (SCM) Plan (the Plan).

It is supplemented by IEEE Std1 which provides approaches to good software conÞguration management Size: KB. Its predecessor defined only the contents of a software configuration management plan. This standard addresses what CM activities are to be done, when they are to happen in the life cycle, and what planning and resources are required.

It also describes the content areas for a CM Plan. IEEE Standard for Software Project Management Plans Sponsor Software Engineering Standards Committee of the IEEE Computer Society Approved 8 December IEEE-SA Standards Board Abstract: The format and contents of software project management plans, applicable to any type or size of software project, are Size: KB.

ERA is considered to be a software-intensive system and therefore a tailored version of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) StandardStandard for Software Configuration Management Plans, was used to guide the development of this plan.

This standard specifies the following test plan outline: Test Plan Identifier: A unique identifier. Introduction. Summary of the items and features to be tested. Need for and history of each item (optional) References to related documents such as project authorization, project plan, QA plan, configuration management plan, relevant policies.

Standard Details Superseded by (SH/SS) The minimum required contents of a Software Configuration Management Plan (SCMP) areestablished, and the specific activities to be addressed and their requirements for any portion of a software product's life cycle are defined.

For users implementing SCM disciplines, suggestions and detailed examples of plans are provided. An interpretation is given of how ANSI/IEEE StdIEEE Standard for Software Configuration Management Plans, can be used for planning the management of different kinds of computer program development and maintenance activities.

This standard applies to the entire life cycle of critical software (e.g., where failure would impact safety or cause large financial or social losses).

In addition, it will establish a correlation between the content of software configuration management plans as defined in and the content of such plans as defined in IEEEGuide for Information Technology - Software Life Cycle Processes - Life Cycle Data by adding an annex which will correlate the assumptions relating to content of.

This revision of the standard expands the previous version to explain CM, including identifying and acquiring configuration items, controlling changes, reporting the status of configuration items, as well as software builds and release engineering.

Its predecessor defined only the contents of a software configuration management plan. Material Type: Document, Internet resource: Document Type: Internet Resource, Computer File: ISBN: OCLC Number: Notes.
